Back in 1050, the Wintu tribe had rules. You broke the rules, you paid. One rule was you didn't steal a brother's acorns. That was a hanging offense which you might guess was a little quicker than being buried up to your neck and covered with ants. Anyway, Likmynuts got caught stealing Little Wolf's acorns and was sentenced to be hung by the neck versus hung by the feet which takes longer. When hanging day came, the designated tribe hanger uppers couldn't decide which branch to use to string up old Likmynuts which brought into play a long forgotten rule that if it took more than two hours to decide which branch to use, the offender was released. Likmynuts got away with Little Wolf's nuts.
