This tree is used frequently by the local bird constable to hang offenders. In fact, it happens quite frequently and it is usually after a rash of thorny impalements involving the corpses of small lizards, mice, snakes, insects and, this is the last straw, other birds. The offender is always a Shrike, primarily, because they are vicious hunters and the other birds are tired of looking at their kills hanging on thorns and barbed-wire fences. Property values really take a hit when the Shrikes are in the area.
