Zoe the Dog got to go for a ride. All our dogs like to go for rides. However, Zoe is more manageable than the others; especially Woody the Cat. How did cats get in this conversation about dogs? Woody thinks he's a dog! We meandered up a dusty road looking for wildflowers. Do you see wildflowers in this photo? No! There were wildflowers albeit sparse. We saw lupines, fiddleneck, blue dicks, poppies and little white things that I don't remember the names anymore. You can use your imagination to populate this photo with flowers. Mostly, we saw oak trees, barbed wire fences, washboard dirt roads and other vehicles all trying to navigate a road barely wide enough for two vehicles traveling in opposite directions. There was a lot of pulling over to let another vehicle pass. We did most of the pulling over.
By the way, if you travel the foothills of the lower San Joaquin Valley, you will notice a phenomenon called "Where did the mountains go?". It is usually fairly clear in the early morning and then the smog sets in. Bam, just like that, no mountains, no valley visible.
