When on a road trip in unknown areas and under time constraints, it seems there is a lot of driveby while looking. At least that was what Shari and I did last year while making a loop through Maine, USA by rental car. I'm pretty sure we just drove through Rockland, Maine without stopping.
The scene portrayed here is at Tillson Avenue and Main Streets. The building on the right is the old Thorndike Hotel originallly built in 1857, closed in the 1970s and rejuvenated in 2005. Now, the Thorndike Creamery occupies the ground floor; at least it did in 2014.
I know all this, not because I am observant and have an unbelievable memory, but, because there are signs captured in the photo that helped decipher the location. An entirely accidental happenstance.
