Billy Longreach is a member of the Pit River Tribe. But, he had some philosophical issues concerning fishing tactics and left the tribe to live here. It took Billy about four years to get the ropes and pulleys in place for his fishing net which stretches across the entire lake. He pays members of the Colusa tribe to crank the gears and move the net. It takes about three months to move the net from one end of the lake to the other, but, Billy doesn't do the work and reaps the benefit of catching thousands of fish at one time. The local fishermen are not very happy with Billy!
