It's not unusual to see deer in the San Ardo oilfields in Monterey County, California. Most of the time they are encountered on Sargents Road and usually in the morning or evening which makes them just like any other Mule Deer in California. This oilfield is pretty much open range for a cattle rancher, so, besides, deer, bobcats, quail and deer, cattle are in abundance. I should hope that if there is any animal vs vehicle accidents, a BBQ would immediately follow. I've never been invited to one, so, I don't know if the drivers are terrible or the animals are cautious.
